Best Time to Visit Miami
November to April · Dry Season (Best Overall)
Miami's dry season delivers warm, sunny weather between 24 and 28°C with low humidity. This is peak season and hotel prices reflect it, particularly around Art Basel in December when South Beach is at its most international and expensive. Book well in advance.
March · Art Basel & Festivals
Ultra Music Festival, Art Basel, and the South Beach Wine and Food Festival all fall in this window. The city is packed, prices are extreme, and the energy is extraordinary. Only visit during festivals if you have booked months in advance.
May and June · Shoulder Season
Temperatures rise and humidity increases but Miami remains very enjoyable. Hotel prices drop significantly from peak, the beaches are less crowded, and the restaurant scene maintains its full quality. Good value window.
July to October · Hurricane Season
Hot, very humid, and with genuine hurricane risk particularly from August to October. Hotel prices are at their lowest. The heat and humidity make outdoor activities challenging. Travel insurance with hurricane cover is essential for this period.

The most famous stretch of Miami: the pastel Art Deco buildings along Ocean Drive, the white sand beach, the Art Deco Historic District walking tour, Lincoln Road outdoor mall, and some of the best people-watching in America.
Wynwood
Miami's arts district, transformed by murals and galleries into one of the most visually arresting neighbourhoods in the country. Wynwood Walls is the centrepiece but the entire surrounding area is worth exploring on foot.
Little Havana
The heart of Miami's Cuban community: Calle Ocho, Domino Park, strong Cuban coffee at a walk-up window, hand-rolled cigars, croquetas, and the most authentic Latin atmosphere in the city.
Coconut Grove
Miami's oldest neighbourhood, with a bohemian character, banyan-lined streets, the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, and a more relaxed pace than the beach. Good brunch options and independent shops.
Brickell & Downtown
Miami's financial district and the centre of the city's Latin American business community. The Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) has an extraordinary waterfront setting and world-class collection.
Design District & Midtown
Luxury fashion houses, contemporary art galleries, excellent restaurants, and the Institute of Contemporary Art Miami. A short walk from Wynwood but with a distinctly more upmarket character.
