Best Time to Visit LA
March to May · Spring (Best Overall)
Comfortable temperatures, clear skies, and the city before peak summer tourism. The hills are green from winter rain and wildflower season in the surrounding mountains can be spectacular. Hotel prices are moderate.
September to November · Fall
The shoulder season after summer crowds leave. Temperatures are warm but not oppressive, the beaches are quieter, and LA's outdoor lifestyle is at its most enjoyable. The Santa Ana winds can bring very hot, dry conditions in October.
June to August · Summer
Peak season with maximum crowds and prices. June Gloom is a real phenomenon, a marine layer that keeps the mornings grey along the coast until late morning. Beach temperatures are warm from July through September.
December to February · Winter
LA's mild winters are one of the city's great advantages. Temperatures rarely drop below 10°C even at night, and sunny 20°C days in January are common. Hotel prices dip and the tourist crowds thin significantly.

Santa Monica & Venice Beach
The Santa Monica Pier, the famous Venice Boardwalk with its street performers and Muscle Beach gym, Abbot Kinney Boulevard for independent shops and restaurants, and some of the best sunsets in California.
West Hollywood & Beverly Hills

Hike to Griffith Observatory in the morning for the Hollywood Sign views and city panorama. Walk the Hollywood Walk of Fame if you must. Dinner in Los Feliz or Silver Lake.
